If you have questions regarding the content of these guidelines, ask it now. This subject will not be addressed on the board again.

SS, TC, Notaries and NSAs are all welcome. Non-Notary members who can benefit the growth and knowledge of this group are welcome if they can offer relevant input.

We want to be clear on the purpose of the UNAA/MWNA Network Group. It is an extension of the United Notary Association. It was created to further enhance the Association for the benefit of it’s members. Anything you post here may be used by the Association to benefit it’s members. This is a venue by which people can share ideas, teach, learn and hopefully have a relaxed environment to do so.

There will be no scrutinizing others spelling or typos which is one means of opening things up for non-productive dispute in most instances. There will be no non-productive bantering. You are perfectly welcome to debate on a professional level and topic but the issues of free speech and censorship apply only at the professional level here. Anything that we feel will create an unproductive scandalous serious of posts will be deleted and any post debating the owners motives for doing so will be deleted. Recurring abuse of the rules by a poster will only lead to that poster being permanently deleted. Debating on business topics is good, however, personal bantering and non-productive posts of questionable content and motive will not be tolerated and will be deleted.

If you wish to vent about issues that conflict with the above guidelines, I would suggest that the group wishing to converse on these topics do so in the live chat. The live chat does not have the ripple effect that the forum posts have.

We cannot be accused of censorship or not allowing freedom of speech since we are giving the option of the live chat. All you have to do is pm each other to go into chat.

We have just uploaded a new site that will be include state chapter sections and discussion areas for meetings of the minds and the ability to come together as a nation to aid in our efforts to gain some type of uniformity and productive advancement of the profession.

We are being upfront with everyone on our intentions. We have no hidden agenda and will not tolerate any discussion here or elsewhere of the kind.

We wish only the best for all members of this network group and the UNAA/MWNA members.

Kill Your Business in Ten Easy Steps

Here's some great reminders to consider when we're slow (author unknown): 1. Pretend that everyone knows what you have to offer 2. Tell yourself that you don't have the time to promote your business 3, ASSume everyone knows what you do for a living and "they'll find you" somehow 4. Convince yourself that you've been in business so long that customers will automatically come to you 5. Forget that there are new potential clients who would do businses with you if they were urged to do so 6. Forget… Continue

Signing Story

I was asked to do a signing in a rural area on a Friday night in the middle of the foothills to the Ozarks. I accepted as I usually do. I drove for about an hour before I came to the gravel road which took me to the subdivision which was an even worse gravel road. I finally arrived at the house in totally pitch dark and rain and realized I was at the end of the road. The dogs started coming out of the woods to greet me, and since I've watched the Dog Whisperer religously I felt I had everything… Continue

Don't Forget Where You Came From

In reading some of the more popular boards, I keep seeing some similarity among posts: Some Veteran Loan Signers are forgetting that their Number One job is that they are a NOTARY PUBLIC. Not a Notary Private, a Notary Public We serve as a Notary Public at the pleasure of our state's Governing body and are the impartial third party that Guarantees certain requirements have been met. These requirements have nothing to do with the signer's dirty…

I'm Saying It

This job is just not for everyone. I stood in front of a sea of eager California Notary Public Students today (I teach the mandatory 6-hr education course) and on a break I was asked what I thought about the market and potential for a new loan signer. My reply was that due to the changes in our industry, I thought a lot of people were getting out of the business but I joked that it only resulted in more work for me - yeah!! I also indicated that "…
